The woman driver thought she'd go for a drive...and walk her dog at the same time

IN CHINA animal cruelty is a national pastime.

But even the locals were shocked when this woman driver took her dog for a walk…on a major freeway.

Fellow drivers – including one man on a rickshaw – could barely believe their eyes when they spotted the pooch being taken for his morning walkies in the slow lane.

The black Nissan crawled along at just a few miles per hour while the animal doggedly padded along the highway in Sanya, central China.

“There are some lazy people around but to be so lazy you walk your dog by car really takes it to a new level,” one passer told the Austrian Times.

World Cup weirdo: This sexy model will pay you £100-a-day to watch the football from South Africa with her

A WORLD CUP mad model has offered to pay a male fan £100-a-day to watch the football with her – and explain what’s going on.

Pretty Daiyu Fang, from Beijing, China, has been turned down by all her girlfriends and has now placed an internet ad for a companion to watch the whole tournament with her.

“I have money but football isn’t very popular in China and people are too busy working,” explained Daiyu – who is determined to see every game beamed from South Africa.

“My only rules are I get to keep the remote control and there is absolutely no kissing no matter how exciting it gets on the pitch,” she told the Austrian Times.

This statue of a policeman about to pull his gun was stolen less than 48 hours after being installed as an anti-crime measure

THIEVES walked off with this life-sized statue of a policeman used to deter crooks at a shopping centre in Limburg, Germany.

The model – showing an officer about to pull his gun – was supposed to make thieves think twice before chancing their arm.

But less than 48 hours after it was installed crooks copped the 80lb statue as a trophy to show off their skills, say police.

“They clearly weren’t fooled by it.

“We’ve got a real one down there now,” one officer told the Austrian Times.

NIGHTCLUB bosses have been arrested under anti-fascist laws for using pictures of Adolf Hitler to promote their bar.

Sklot rock club in Warsaw, Poland, doctored a picture of the Nazi leader wearing sunglasses above a Third Reich eagle for posters plugging the club’s party nights.

Now the owners are facing two years in prison for promoting fascism, strictly illegal in Poland which was occupied by German troops in World War II.

“The content of this poster which uses images to promote fascism is a crime,” said Renata Mazur from Warsaw’s prosecutor’s office.

But club bosses say the row is just a storm in a tea cup.

“The idea is that Hitler isn’t happy with the condition of Warsaw clubs so he plans to invade and make them better,” club spokesman Kalina Koslinska told the Austrian Times.

“It’s just a bit of fun.”

MEET the most rubbish binmen in the world.

This previously clean and well kept road became a stinking tip overnight when trash collectors simply dumped their loads in the street when their shift ended.

Residents in Zhengzhou, central China, woke up to find tons of stinking rubbish all over the roadside causing chaos for morning commuters.

More than 50 refuse collectors and 28 trucks spent a whole day clearing away the trash before the street was back to normal again.

One official said: “The binmen have a work dispute and had been delayed on their round by fog.”

He told the Austrian Times: “So the minute their shift ended they emptied the trucks where they were and went home.”

Man ‘too busy working’ to notice 11 two-inch needles penetrate his skin and enter his body

WHEN a 31-year-old man showed up in casualty complaining of pins and needles in his stomach…doctors figured it was stress.

But after finding his blood pressure was fine they sent him for X-rays – and found 11 long needles buried in his intestines.

Medics believe that Ching Goha of Leping, eastern China, may have unwittingly injured himself by following an ancient Chinese tradition to ward off evil spirits by carrying big needles.

“I used to carry a bag of them around in my pocket but I never felt anything jabbing into me,” claimed Ching.

Now hospital staff have removed nine of the needles – with some measuring nearly two inches long – and say they will get the final two in a second op.

Some of the needles were more than two inches long

“He may have been so absorbed in his work that he simply didn’t feel the needles pierce his skin. It’s highly unusual,” Dr Wang Youfa told the

Austrian Times.

Driver ploughs through wall because Sat-Nav ‘told him to’

THIS six-hundred-year-old medieval city gatehouse was destroyed when the driver of a giant frozen food lorry followed his Sat-Nav to the letter.

Police believe the 47-year-old driver’s gadget told him to go through the ancient gate – built in the 1400s – in Schaerding, Austria, despite a strict ban on trucks in the historic city centre. So he did.

The gatehouse, before the Sat-Nav got involved

Astonishingly residents in an apartment attached to the side of the gate – who would normally have been watching TV in the lounge – survived because they’d decided on an early night because there was “nothing worth watching”.

One neighbour said: “He hit the arch and it didn’t look too serious – and then the whole wall fell away.
“The driver must be a fool because anyone could see he wouldn’t make it.”
The arch was lovingly restored in the 1950s, after sustaining damage in World War II, reports the Austrian Times.

‘After 300 yards, stop, turn around…and die’: Your sat nav could kill you, police warn

SAT NAVS are going to kill people because idiot drivers follow their instructions ‘blindly’, police chiefs have warned.

Dozens of motorists have been caught on CCTV turning around their vehicles in high-speed tunnels  despite the threat of oncoming traffic –  ”because their sat navs told them to”

And now furious Swiss cops have spoken out about the perils of the satellite navigation systems.

They have published traffic images from the notorious Gotthard tunnel to illustrate how crazed drivers make u-turns as traffic approaches at more than 50 mph.

Damian Meier, head of traffic police in the Swiss province of Uri, said: “This is not an isolated case. More and more drivers are asked by their sat navs to take a u-turn in the Gotthard tunnel.”

He added: “The majority of drivers taking a u-turn in the tunnel are from abroad.”

Meier told the Austrian Times the sat navs often ‘revise’ the route after entering the underpass and advise drivers to turn around and take a local bypass instead.

A CASH-STRAPPED commuter has been caught clinging to the back of a coach – to save a 1p fare.

Stunned motorists watched Deng Chung, 33, swinging from the back of the bus as he sped through Dongwan, southern China, for more than 30 minutes before hopping off outside his office.

Now police are quizzing passengers and other drivers so they can charge the reckless IT worker with endangering public safety.

“I was following him for a while and we got up to 40 miles per hour,” said motorist Tian Yang, who took this picture.

But baffled bus bosses say he saved himself just a penny with his stunt.

“It’s not worth risking your life over that sort of money.

“If he was really short we’d let him on for nothing ,” a spokesman for the Great Wall Bus Company told the Austrian Times.
